  1. A brick is a common building material. It is 
  2. rectangular in shape and is made of clay that
  3. has been fired in a kiln. Bricks are made by
  4. kneading a mixture of crushed clay and other
  5. materials into a stiff mud and extruding it 
  6. into a ribbon. The ribbon is cut into
  7. i ndividual bricks, which are fired at a
  8. temperature of up to about 1,000°C 
  9. (1,800°F).  Bricks may alternatively be 
  10. pressed into shape in moulds.
